Activities Suspended
The GMPOA Has Suspended All Activities Until The 2010 AGM

The GMPOA regrets to announce that it will be inactive until the 2010 AGM, 10 a.m., Saturday September 4, 2010 at the Grand Marais Recreation Centre. The problem, no one wants to stand for election to the Management Committee. We regret that this year we are not representing the day-to-day concerns of the average property owner in Grand Marais, and we are concerned that no one will do so in the future.

WE NEED YOU!
If you too are concerned, then we need you to stand up at the 2010 AGM. If there is not a full slate of 9 candidates, the association will dissolve.

To participate at the AGM, you must have a 2010 – 2011 membership. If you want to become a member, you can purchase a membership at the Grand Marais Recreation Centre on Saturday September 4, 2010, 9:30 – 10:00 a.m.

Grand Marais is a small resort community on magnificent Lake Winnipeg in the province of Manitoba. The area is home to about 350 permanent residents. This population increases dramatically in summer when seasonal cottages fill with vacationers.

Grand Marais is immediately adjacent to Grand Beach Provincial Park, a 3 km beach composed of the finest sand imaginable. Crowds of thirty thousand (and often more) regularly enjoy the sand, sun and fresh water on summer weekends.

Pileated WoodpeckerPiping Plover
Grand Marais is a bird watchers paradise; the area is home to the rare Pileated Woodpecker and, in summer, to the even more rare Piping Plover. Many other birds pass through the area on their biannual migration. The northern terminus of the Ruby-throated Hummingbird's migration is found here too.
