The 2009 Fire Truck Pull: (CANCELLED for 2009)
Saturday, August 22, 2009, 11 am – 1 pm
264 Grand Beach Road (just south of Doris’s Grocery Store) in Grand Marais.
Presented in partnership with the East Beaches Fire and Rescue Service (EBFR). Last year we completed fundraising for and purchased a thermal imaging camera for the EBFR. Funds raised from the 2009 event will be used to purchase equipment for the EBFR and to support the GMPOA’s Staircase Renewal Project. Adult and kids-under-12 competitions, BBQ hotdog and a drink for $2.50, 50-50 and raffle draws, face painting, kids’ parade, dunk tank, after event dinner, merchants’ tables and more. Grand Marais Family Festival:

Grand Marais Recreation Centre.
Fun for the entire family. Bar and canteen open all weekend. Cribbage tournament, free horse drawn sleigh rides, family funspiel (curling), Friday night bonfire with free hot chocolate and free marshmallows for roasting, silent auction, 50-50, lottery tree, raffles, non-denominational church service and pancake breakfast Sunday morning, and more. 2008 GMPOA Membership BBQ: Saturday, August 4, 4 - 7 p.m. We will try something new this year. Instead of us coming to you, we invite you to join us, literally, at our Membership BBQ. Buy a membership and receive a free hotdog complements of Lanky's. THANKS LANKY'S!! The BBQ will take place along Grand Marais Boulevard, between Lakeview and Central Avenues, next to the present staircase to the Historic Fisherman's Pier. Parking restrictions along GM Blvd. have been waived for this event.

GMPOA Volunteer Recognition Social and Staircase Fundraiser: Saturday, August 9, 2008, 8 pm - 1 am, at the Grand Marais Recreation Centre. Come honour those who have supported the GMPOA over the past 3 years. Those who have volunteered for GMPOA activities will receive free entry. 50/50 draws and a silent auction will be held to support the Staircase Reconstruction Project. We are contacting many volunteers now, but we fear we may miss some. If you have volunteered to help the GMPOA in any way, please contact Linda at 754-2774 or Donna at 255-8824 so we can extend our gratitude to you too! Pine Falls 26th Annual 4P Festival: Friday, August 29th - Monday, September 1st. Events include live music, a fish fry, beer gardens, fireworks, a parade, entertainment, food and much more.
